Barry Seal estate challenges Universal Pictures film agreement

Attorney Roy Maughan Jr. represented Seal’s daughter in estate litigation challenging Universal Pictures' film rights to her father Barry Seal's life story. The lawsuit alleged that family members sold rights without proper estate authorization and that the film "American Made" misrepresented Seal's life. Ultimately, the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal dismissed the case in June 2018, with the state Supreme Court denying appeal.
